At Legends FC San Diego, we believe there is room for improvement at every level of youth soccer. To achieve our mission as a club, we cannot simply accept things as they are. This starts with setting, meeting and exceeding expectations for our membership. We will work tirelessly to apply consistency, ambition, focus and optimism as we develop our club, coaches, teams, and players.

As a club, it is our role to set clear expectations to our membership at the club level, the program level, the team level and the player level. When expectations are properly set, we can ensure then that we spend the majority of our time meeting and exceeding those expectations, as we strive to make the create the best youth soccer experience.

VISION

Our vision is clear and filled with optimism for the future of soccer in San Diego. Founded in 2024, we have outlined a five, ten and fifteen year club vision. Following in the footsteps of Legends FC, we will build a second destination for developing top youth soccer players in the nation right here in San Diego.

DEVELOPMENT PHILOSOPHY

Our player development philosophy centers around building confident players with four stages of development: Fundamental, Technical, Tactical and Mental. Within each, we focus on each player’s individual development as they strive to reach milestones in building confidence.

Ages 7-9

At the earliest ages, we believe passion is fundamental to the game. We focus on mastering the basic fundamentals, but prioritize fun and falling in love with the ball, and the game.

Ages 10-12

At the younger ages, we believe technical precision is the next stage of development. We focus on ball mastery and apply touch, tempo and tenacity building confidence in possession.

Ages 13-15

At the middle ages, we believe players should develop a strong sense of purpose when playing in possession, out of possession and in transition. We focus on soccer intelligence and tactics.

Ages 16-18

At the older ages, we believe mental health and strength is the most critical phase of development. We focus on developing complete players who approach the all aspects of the game with poise.

PEDIGREE

Originally founded as Del Mar Sharks, the club has entered a strategic partnership with Legends FC, a nationally recognized premier youth soccer club. Legends FC believes in offering quality coaches, development programs and top notch facilities. Our partnership seeks to continue this legacy.
