Shannon Mac Millan has had a notable association with DMCV Sharks/Legends FC SD - Del Mar.
Shannon has been actively involved with DMCV Sharks as a coach and Executive Board member for over 10 years. As a former professional soccer player and U.S. Women's National Team member, she has used her expertise to help guide young athletes in their soccer journey. Her position at the club was crucial in mentoring and providing leadership to the next generation.
Playing Accomplishments:
U.S. Women's National Team (WNT):
Mac Millan earned 177 caps for the U.S. Women's National Team, scoring 60 goals and contributing with 40 assists during her international career from 1993 to 2005.
She was part of the 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup winning team, where the U.S. claimed the title in front of a home crowd.
She also played in two FIFA Women's World Cups, won a Gold metal in 1999, and 3rd place in 2003. Appeared in three Olympics, 1996 Gold, 2000 Silver, 2003 Gold as alternate.
Mac Millan was also known for her contributions in CONCACAF Women's Championships and various other international tournaments.
Club Career:
She played for clubs in the Women's United Soccer Association (WUSA), Shannon was one of the founding member of San Diego Spirit and played all 3 years with them.
In addition to her WUSA career, she played for various teams in U.S. domestic leagues and overseas.
